Well done to both of you 🙂 I have to say that I found toilet training very bittersweet. Grace was growing up and it was a relief not to do nappies anymore but I was losing my baby. Grace no longer had dirty nappies at 18 months which I found great! Thanks for linking to PoCoLo xx

I think you’re right. I have been so tired, and a lot going on, that I partly just wasn’t being on the ball and partly I just wasn’t seeing because, he is my baby. Night-times are tough, M is not loving wearing a nappy at night, but he is not dry, or ready to be dry. I do have some cloth training night nappies, I might try them, and see how he goes. I hope the big bed thing eases, we had a stage where M was not happy about it, and bedtimes were a mess, and he was in and out of his bed a lot. It’s all fun, this parenting thing isn’t it?

It’s funny, I have had so many people say “boy’s are lazy with potty training” but I have potty trained a few boys (one who is now 20) and never found that, and then I had someone today tell me girls were awful to potty train. I think it’s so child dependant. I am so proud of him, lots of hurdles in the past few weeks, grommets, and now this! He’s a big boy, not my baby anymore!

Clever boy! I think it is better to wait for them to be ready and don’t blame yourself for not spotting the signs – I believe that as Mums we are too close to our little ones to objectively see that they are growing up. In fact it was my Mum that told me that my daughter was ready a week before she turned 2. I laughed it off and within 2 days of my Mum looking after her she was potty trained! I was sure it was a phase but now nearly 3 months after she’s still in panties!
Nighttime though is hard. She can’t stand dirty nappies and just takes them off. We had to transition to a big bed so she can get up. Thats not going so well. Good luck!

Dont blame yourself, sometimes we as parents are not ready to let our babies grow up! how ever much they are ready! What a cleaver little boy though often they (dont know who they are) say boys are a little lazy! Ok thats true with mine especially when playing toys are more important than toilet! Hope it continues to go well for you!! Well done! x
