We have had to make sacrifices over the years as my eldest doesn’t like change in routine either, he really struggles. The last time we went away for a few days she never slept, so things just got very stressful. I should explain, she has Aspergers.
Like you, I have to sacrifice what I’d like us to do, or even what the family would like to do, but it’s the way it is.
You sound like you’re longing for a trip home though and I do hope you get it soon, it will be just what you need xx
