We had exactly this conversation in the week. As an Acne ridden teenager who went on to become a Beauty Therapist, I was confident about giving skincare advice to my tween. Obviously, this is also a bit of a soap dodging stage so I think the message has to sink in! One bug bear is putting moisturiser on a dirty face or not wearing any on a clean face. i just wish i’d been told the importance of moisturising every day from an early age and just accepted why i should wear sun cream regardless of the weather

Both my teens have had problems with their skin and sadly the onset of puberty is when it really hits. Like you I have stressed the importance of keeping their skin clean. It is obvious really but to them not so. I have found it has taken a while with both of them to find something that works for them but we have stuck to products with natural ingredients that are not too harsh. My biggest issue is them remembering to do it without a reminder! Such a horrendous issue for our youngsters and there is some great advice here. Thanks for linking. #TweensTeensBeyond

Brilliant down to earth advice here Karen. I have to hold my hand up and say that we have tried toothpaste here too and I think it may have been me that suggested it! Oh dear! My girls have completely overtaken me in terms of knowledge of skin care and so I am now on the receiving end of advice rather than dishing it out.
