I can only imagine how annoying this is. Bureaucracy should be seamless and efficient, and so much of ours is anything but. I don’t blame the people working in the passport office – I’m sure they’re moving as fast as they can with resources that have probably been cut – but it annoys me that the government’s drive to cut costs in the recession (which is fair enough) focussed only on announcing how many jobs they had cut more than it did ironing out the many inherent inefficiencies that waste millions of pounds every week.

I think they are doing some Fast Track, for free to try and clear the backlog. We have until the 26th July, when we go, so we will give them until the end of the month, then start hassling them! Thanks! It’s such a shambles! 🙁

Thank you. We don’t go until the 26th July, so are giving them until the end of the month, then we will start the process of Fast Track. I hope we don’t have to. It’s such a mess! 🙁

I have everything crossed that your passports are sorted in time!! you are right it is an utter shambles and one that is unnecessary really!!! everyone should be able to fast track for free seen as this is their cock up!! x

Oh Karen that’s *so* frustrating! Really hope you get them back soon! I think they have them far too long,probably an evil ploy to get everyone paying extra to fast track. Good luck 🙂
