Every year, we ask ourselves in our house, “should we have a real or fake Christmas tree?” and we have gone down both roads with fake and also real trees. I personally prefer a real tree, but during Covid lockdowns and chaos we bought a fake tree online to use because it felt like an easier option. We have also had a light up tree left to us by my Dad when he emigrated from the UK.
I love a real tree, and for me, it’s part of our Christmas traditions. They smell lovely, they feel more Christmassy to me. But there are pros and cons of both real and fake trees and I I have had a think about both.

I personally don’t think there is a right or wrong choice. You need to think about your budget, your home, environmental concerns, what kind of Christmas tree look you are going for, and what you think will look best for your family and Christmas season.
