Yu-Gi-Oh is another one of the most popular trading card games in the world. It’s a Japanese collectible card game produced and created by Konami. It was first released in Japan in 1999 and in North America in 2002. In 2009, Yu-Gi-Oh made it into the book of Guinness World Records by selling more than 22 billion cards worldwide.

The game of Yu-Gi-Oh is based on the imaginary game of Duel Monsters. In the game, players draw cards from their individual decks and take it in turns to play cards onto the field. Each player starts the game with 8,000 life points. The main aim of the game is to use spells and monster attacks to reduce your competitor’s life points. The game will end when it reaches one of the following conditions:

A player loses all of their life points

Both players reach zero life points at the same time (this is classed as a draw)

A player needs to draw a card from the main deck, but there are no cards remaining

Some cards can trigger an automatic win or loss when certain conditions are met

A player can forfeit the game at any time

3.     Pokémon

 card games

Pokémon is an extremely popular trading card game in America and around the world. In fact, it is currently the best-selling card game with more than 29 billion cards sold around the world. This game allows players to buy cards and customize their decks for gameplay. Players usually begin with a trainer kit which includes the basic cards they need to play the game and instructions on what to do. Once players know the basics, they can purchase other types of decks to make the game more exciting and interesting.

The aim of the game is to defeat an opponent’s Pokémon by using your Pokémon’s abilities or attacks. Attacks need energy cards to power them. The more energy cards you collect, the more chance of winning a Pokémon battle. There are 11 different types of energy cards available which match the different types of Pokémon. These include:

Fire – these have large attacks. Fire Pokémon can burn other Pokémon, but need to recover before another attack

Grass – these can heal themselves quickly

Water – these are able to maneuver around opposing Pokémon and they can also manipulate energy

Lightning – these can paralyze their opponents and are able to revive used energy that is discarded

Psychic – they can make their opponents confused or fall asleep

Darkness – these can use sneak attacks

Fighting – these can serve serious damage

Fairy – these can make opponent attacks less damaging

Metal – these can endure attacks longer than most other Pokémon

Dragon – these have super strong attacks against their opponents

Colorless – these Pokémon are diverse and can do a variety of different moves
