If you having been following us, you will know that the end of April and all of May was a challenging time for us, with some major health issues and life being a bit of a rollercoaster, but we are back with Stuff we Love for May, and we hope that June is a bit gentler on us.

Food is life:
I am sliding onto the vegan/vegetarian bandwagon again. With the husband being ill, and people very kindly bringing us meals, as well as having to rely on hospital food (which to be fair, for food allergies was pretty good, and I was very impressed) I have been eating basically everything that was put in front of me, because sometimes you just have to, and worry about food choices when life isn’t so demanding. I am looking forward to summer and lots of salads and lighter meals, and fruit and veg. Too.
Our picks for this month are:
Sainsbury’s Love Your Veg Sweet Potato Katsu Curry. This is yummy, I am a katsu curry fan, although it’s not a very big portion for one person.
Om Bars are raw vegan chocolate bars, and they are delicious. I am working my way through trying each one they make.
We are currently reviewing Real Good Ketchup sauces, as I work on the children having a little less salt and sugar in their foods. So far so good.
We also will be sharing about The Protien Ball Company too. What I can tell you is that so far we are all squabbling about which ones we like best and when they are all gone we will be sad.
Even the tween approves of these Mac&Cheese vegan balls from Marks & Spencer’s Plant based kitchen range. They are pretty good.
We have also been eating vegan sausage rolls, vegan chocolate truffles and I have been experimenting with growing my own mushrooms some more. They are really good in risotto and also grilled on toast.
Skincare:
I am loving ThisWorks products and their sleep range is amazing. Not cheap, but worth budgeting for, and a little goes a long way.
Lush Coffee Scrub makes my children laugh when I apply it but it perks my skin up and smells amazing.
I have splurged a bit and treated my skin to some rich night cream from Angela Langford, and some retinol treatment from Deciem. I need all the help I can get at the moment. I am also loving using a brush and oil to dry brush my skin.
Summer is coming, so I am slapping on the sun screen and this Child’s Farm is a firm favourite for me for this year, and Aveda hair protection is also something I use now the weather means I will burn so much more easily. I am also rather excited to try some more Earth Conscious products. Their deodorant sticks are really great and this one smells amazing.
Health and in the kitchen:
Summer for me means all the biting insects come to track me down. I use combination of medical treatments but I also found this bug zapper thing works really well. My kids are terrified of it, but it works for me.
I am very excited to try these reusable food pouches, and will let you know how we get on with them.
I am currently pumping the husband full of vitamin tonic and probiotics. These daily drinks which are dairy free, are part of his regime. They taste pretty good. I figure some good bacteria can’t hurt him as he works his way back to full health.
Last but not least. I am also excited to be using these biodegradable wipes from Dettol. I try to use green products, but there are times when I need something that gets the job done, ie cleaning up after a cat. They are compostable. This is a big thing, and so far they are working well. I am using them sparingly, still to reduce waste.
That seems rather a lot for May, but that really is the lot. Let’s see what June has to bring for us.
What are you loving right now?
