Things that have made me happy this week

Life can be tough, but as my therapist says, there is always something to try and see in a good light. So welcome to Things that have made me happy this week. Sharing the good things amongst the tough and sometimes hamster wheel slog that life feels like.

things that have made me happy

This week has been incredibly tough. We are having a bit of a sleep strike from a certain small boy, which is tiring for all of us. We think (we hope) we know what’s causing the lack of sleep so we are working on bringing normal back. He is a lot better these days so it does hit us harder when we do hit a bad patch.

Orchids made me happy. We happened to get a sneak preview of some of the orchids at the Kew Orchid Festival. I can’t wait to see them properly in a few weeks when we go again.

Food has made me happy this week. Within diet means of course. These rather yummy vegan cupcakes from Oggs arrived for us to review. Safe to say they didn’t last long. I had to fight for my share. They are pretty good. Watch out for a review later next week.

Being able to go for a run made me happy this week. It’s rare right now and I am finding that hard. Me time has been in short supply this week. I like to run by the pond near where we live, it’s not a bad spot to enjoy whilst I catch my breath for a few minutes. The swans don’t mind me too much even if I don’t have food for them.

Homeschool has made me happy this week. The boy enjoyed his project group, which he has struggled a bit the past couple of times. He did a project sharing about the history of Lego and we did a book review too. When it works it all feels good.

So we have survived and made it to the end of the week, and despite it being hard there have been happy things. It’s helpful to acknolelege those when you are feeling bogged down, isn’t it?
