Book a massage from your phone, that’s a clever app…

I love having a massage. I get very sore arms, shoulders and neck, and I also get generally quite sore, stiff and tired. A relaxing massage is a real treat for me. Normally I would ask a friend of mine, who is a local, qualified and very good massage therapist, but she has literally just had a baby, so she has other things keeping her busy, right now.

I hurt my shoulder a few weeks ago, lifting toys, at our group, and am generally feeling a bit tense and tired, so when I was asked if I would like to give Urban Massage a try, I jumped at the chance.

It’s very simple. You download the app, and then put in your details, and you can select a massage therapist who will come to your home, at a time and date that suits you. You can choose from a variety of massages, from a relaxing classic massage, deep tissue, sports massage, pregnancy massage, calming, energising, or even anti cellulite (I was not brave enough to try that one!) if you live in London, this is a great app to try out, if you want to book a massage.

Urban Massage

I like the idea of having an app on my phone, I use my phone for everything, and the app works efficiently. The only thing I would say is that if you need to rearrange or cancel your appointment, you can’t do that via the app, you have to send an e-mail but as their reply and customer services system works well, that really isn’t that big a deal.

I chose an energising massage, and made a note on my booking that my shoulder was sore, so the therapist would know in advance, when I booked my massage.

You also pre pay, when you book the massage, so there is no need to worry about having to have cash when the massage therapist arrives. All their therapists are qualified, trained and insured. You do fill in a form, when they arrive, to make sure you have no medical or health issues that could be a concern, during a massage, which is a standard procedure all professional massage services should offer.

The service was very professional, and the massage therapist, who came to do my booking, Caroline, arrived on time, and set up her table, in our room. They bring their own tables, you have to provide your own towels, which makes sense, therapists wouldn’t be able to cart loads of clean towels around but they do tell you this, in your booking confirmation. She was very friendly, but professional and I enjoyed the massage. She offered me a choice of oils, to use, and did a bit of work on the sore area of my shoulder, which was helpful. I felt very relaxed and ready to face the rest of my day, afterwards.

This is a great app for general use if you use a massage service regularly, or simply want a treat or a special massage, as well as for organising for someone else as a treat. Their prices are competitive and reasonable, and their service is very good. Well worth downloading and trying out their services. Isn’t technology marvellous? A massage booking app for your phone, is a very clever idea!
