Keeping your sense of humour whilst parenting into the teen years.

I am a firm believer in keeping your sense of humour when parenting, is key to keeping sane. Sometimes it is hard to laugh, and there are most certainly times when you will feel more like crying, screaming and giving up but if you can find a smile in situations, it does sometimes help.

We are huge fans of the LadyBird Books for adults in this house, and I recently bought one for the husband, for his birthday.

This page stood out to me, as we enter the years of parenting a child as they are in the tween years about to hit the teens in headlong fashion.

Some days, this totally applies. I maintain, firmly that tweenagers and teens are sometimes just like giant toddlers with slightly more vocabulary.

You have to laugh…

PS this is of course just gentle fun, tongue in cheek.

And linked up with Tweens, Teens and Beyond…

  1. I love these books. My eldest daughter bought me the ‘Mum’ one for Mother’s day. Very true about the sense of humour! Thanks so much for sharing with us at #TweensTeensBeyond

    • I try not to tell the parents at my toddler group that they have to face it all again in puberty! I don’ think they could cope!! πŸ™‚
