Adding a collagen boost to my day

*This is a review post. I was kindly sent an item to try*

I haven’t really made any firm resolutions this year, although self-care and taking care of me, is something I do want to try and focus on. I recently started to try and up my skincare game, and have added some supplements to my diet to try and help with that. Collagen is something I have read about and used before but finding a vegan collagen has been something that has been important for me.

What Is Collagen?
Collagen is a protein, and it’s the main component of the various connective tissues in the body—in other words, it’s what holds the body together. It’s present primarily our tissues such as tendons and skin.

We need collagen to keep our body functioning correctly. As our bodies age, the amount of collagen we have is depleted and you can feel and see this in your skin. It feels less tight and firm. I am noticing this a bit for me, now, and can’t deny that age is catching up with me, so I want to try and help my body as much as possible. I know we can’t avoid aging but I would like to keep my skin looking as good as possible for as long as possible.

It is possible to supplement your diet with collagen, through nutrition and the food you eat, but we all know that sometimes our diets are not perfect and there are times when I find I need to top myself up to make sure I am getting everything I need.

Topping up what your body needs

Bioglan makes a great collagen powder that is easy to add to a smoothie or my breakfast yogurt and because it’s vegan, it’s great for those who want to add collagen to their diet, but don’t want to consume animal products. As someone who has eaten both a vegan and vegetarian diet, I know this is important.

Bioglan Superfoods Beauty Protein is a vegan, collagen-boosting blend of colourful berries and plant-based pea and rice protein. It’s also been enhanced with hyaluronic acid, bamboo extract, biotin, vitamin C and amino acids.

The unique amino acid blend mimics the composition of bovine collagen, without using any animal-based ingredients. Each serving is high in protein and contains no added flavours or sweeteners, so you can add a collagen boost to breakfast, smoothies and both sweet and savoury recipes.

You can’t taste it when you add it to a smoothie or your breakfast and it’s loaded with Vitamin C, Biotin, Hyaluronic Acid and Silica which are all substances which can help with skin aging to improve the texture and tone of skin.

I can’t stop my body aging, but I can try and get there gracefully, and keep my body and skin feeling and looking good for me, for as long as possible. Making sure I get what I need to do this is important, and an easy to use supplement ticks the boxes and is one less thing for me to worry about.

Do you take supplements and have you considered adding collagen to your diet?
