Raise your Game with Dementia UK

*This is a collaborative post with Dementia UK, a charity we are proud to support*

Autumn is here. Longer nights, colder weather, and even more time at home with the family. Break up the boredom and screen time, with a few board game nights each week. There’s a board game for pretty much every age, and board gaming is a place where all generations can come together. Thanks to Ideal Games by John Adams, we’ve been sent these family games to try out.  Also, this October, Dementia UK has launched its first Raise Your Game campaign; an initiative to raise awareness and funding for all the work their dementia specialist Admiral Nurses do to help families across the country.

Dementia

Board games and playing games are something my family enjoy. I must confess, I am not a fan of party games and dressing up in fancy dress but I do enjoy board games and my children love them, particularly when we play as a family. Board games are brilliant as something to play together from an early age.

Othello (a game I remember playing at school)

Dementia

Tetris Dual, my personal favourite

Grabola – this is a brilliant fast game, for all ages, almost and lots of fierce competition. The boy says this is his other favourite game. Great for parties too.

Dementia

Rubik’s Revolution – great for making your brain and hands work and can be multiplayer too. Both kids love this. It’s a great game to keep one person or more busy and fast thinking.

and Bank Attack which is an old favourite of ours as a family and a great game for adults and older kids to learn strategy and beat the bank!

This October, Dementia UK has launched its first Raise Your Game campaign; an initiative to raise awareness and funding for all the work their dementia specialist Admiral Nurses do to help families across the country.

Raise your Game is the perfect occasion to bring people together, either socially distanced, virtually or within your household. You can play your favourite games and have fun, whilst raising vital funds to help our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses support more families facing dementia.

Raise your Game is taking place in October, but you can hold an event on any date that suits you. Read about how you can Raise your Game for Dementia UK here, and sign up for your free fundraising pack with everything you need to get started.

You can sign up for your free fundraising pack on the Dementia UK website.
Why not take part? An amazing charity to support and a lot of fun playing family games in the process? We are proud to support such an amazing cause and we hope that Raise Your Game is able to raid more than enough funds to support such an important cause.
