I am a firm believer in keeping your sense of humour when parenting, is key to keeping sane. Sometimes it is hard to laugh, and there are most certainly times when you will feel more like crying, screaming and giving up but if you can find a smile in situations, it does sometimes help.
We are huge fans of the LadyBird Books for adults in this house, and I recently bought one for the husband, for his birthday.
This page stood out to me, as we enter the years of parenting a child as they are in the tween years about to hit the teens in headlong fashion.
Some days, this totally applies. I maintain, firmly that tweenagers and teens are sometimes just like giant toddlers with slightly more vocabulary.
You have to laugh…
PS this is of course just gentle fun, tongue in cheek.
And linked up with Tweens, Teens and Beyond…
hehehe! You are so right. Teenagers/tweens are so like toddlers.
I swear my girls have more tantrums now than they did when they were little. lol
They are just more verbal, I think!! π
ha ha yes, you’re so right, thankfully they do grow out of it
I can’t say I will be sad when it happens π
It’s all noise when they hit the teen years, including the ‘noise’ they listen to and claim its music arrrgggghhhh!!! #tweensteensbeyond
Oh yes, the noise, don’t get me started on the noise… π
Haha – what is it with the smells!? I’m just grateful its summer and I can open the windows! #tweensteensbeyond
I spend my days opening her window to air her room… :O
Don’t know about the smells … but so much truth in the concept. #tweensteensbeyond
I love these books. My eldest daughter bought me the ‘Mum’ one for Mother’s day. Very true about the sense of humour! Thanks so much for sharing with us at #TweensTeensBeyond
They are such fun books and very true!
Ha ha. I suppose you could say at least we have had a rehearsal. Great analogy Karen and thanks for sharing with #tweensteensbeyond

I try not to tell the parents at my toddler group that they have to face it all again in puberty! I don’ think they could cope!! π
Parenting teenagers definitely needs humour on many levels and I am still learning daily. #TweensTeensBeyond
Oh yes, laugh or you will cry!!
